American Velvet – Michael has been the leasing agent at “The Mill” since 1997. It is one of those pride and joy experiences as he has helped to take it from an empty building (160,000 sq ft) and a liability to now having fifty-six tenants and employing over sixty people.

Background:
Married to Sarah Blair for 29 years. Sarah is an ELL & reading tutor at West Broad Street School & an artist with a studio at The Velvet Mill. We have three children – Torren, 27, an Amherst College graduate, engaged to be married and working at UPENN in Philadelphia. Gavin, 25, a recent Wheaton College philosophy graduate who is working for John Whiley Publications in New York City and Rachael, 22, is a forth year sociology student at the University of New Hampshire. We live in the first house we bought 24 years ago. My parents Tom & Muriel Blair and in-laws Betty & Wendell Stearns live in Pawcatuck.
